Victor M. Chi

Welcome to my website! The purpose of this is to show a little bit more of who I am, a bit more than what may appear from a glance of my resume. Hopefully this gives you a bit more insight into what I’m about whether you’re a recruiter, hiring manager, or curious colleague.

I began my career after graduating from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications Studies. About two years later, I returned to UNCC to earn a Masters degree in Business Administration which is still in progress. During this time, I have been working at Spectrum Reach, the advertising fulfillment business of Spectrum and Charter Communications, in multiple roles. My time at Spectrum Reach has been filled with various teams, projects, and responsibilities.

I have worked with both traditional linear advertising and modern streaming advertising. My current role is Lead Optimizations Specialist, in which I help lead a team of specialists as we ensure that advertising campaigns fulfill in full and troubleshoot any issues that would occur now or in the future. In this role, effective communication is essential as we coordinate across multiple business units to deliver an advertising campaign that both fulfills the client’s needs and works within the bounds of our networks and systems.

What I envision for my career in the future is a move into project management. I have been involved in many projects while at Spectrum Reach, many of which have had a tangible impact on business performance. These include an essential software transition that helped move the whole business from an outdated software to a new, cutting-edge webapp, the backend fulfillment of a new self-service platform for clients to build campaigns, and the testing of new updates for many of the softwares used by the business before being deployed to the rest of the business. Additionally, one project that I am proud of because I designed and completed it myself, was the standardization of certain workflows by creating tutorial videos that have been distributed and utilized throughout the business.

Outside of work, I like to spend my time watching sports, playing music, or cooking intricate meals. Football (European) is my favorite sport to watch, and my favorite teams are Liverpool FC and Charlotte FC. I also enjoy watching football (American) when with my friends, and they all root for the Baltimore Ravens. When not watching sports, I’m usually playing music or cooking. I play both the trumpet and the piano, with trumpet being my principal instrument and piano as a secondary, mainly for arranging and composing purposes. As for cooking, my favorite dishes to make are grilled meats, pastas, roasts, and a few traditional Korean dishes that my family has taught me.
